Check out this adorable boy, Lance! Lance is a sweet little shepherd mix, whose ears are perky and very expressive. Lance loves to get out with volunteers, and we love to see him play with other dogs! He is probably not going to be a huge dog, and he still needs lots of socializing with humans, and lots of handling. We think he has great potential! We do love our Lance! But Lance has a little bit of demodex mange going on right now. It's not contagious to other animals and he is being treated for it but he has a raggy appearance right now. It certainly does not affect his loving personality or his willingness to play hard. Lance's foster mom adores him and has been seeing to it that he gets tons of exercise by running, fetching and playing ball. In addition he gets to play with a dog that is three times his size and knows how to help him develop his doggy social skills. What a great dog!

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
