Periwinkle's Story...
Miss Molly Periwinkle! Isn't she BEAUTIFUL!? She is only 8 months old, 45 pounds and appears to be a Border Collie mix. She came to Hair of the Dog Rescue on an 18 leg volunteer transport from the Florida Rock Pits. Her mother was one of the hundreds of abandoned dogs living in the Redlands/Rock Pit. Periwinkle loves dogs and cats and kids of all sizes. She is friendly and sweet, but slightly shy. We think she will be happiest in a more relaxed household. Chaos can stress her out and even make her pee a little. She is quiet and loves human affection. She walks well on the leash and with the exception of her occasional piddle (which she can't help, and will most likely outgrow), she is house trained and crate trained. She needs a patient and caring family who will love her and care for her forever. She will be spayed and microchipped and fully vaccinated prior to adoption. She will make a wonderful companion. Please share for Periwinkle. Inquiries to adopt:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Periwinkle, a Allentown Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
