My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption fee on this dog is $350.

We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy or EMAIL us at info@gcgsr.org for more information.

Arcade is a 3 month old male. He came into rescue with Rose and Citrona when the owner suspected they got into rat poison. They were immediately treated for 3 weeks and showed no signs of poisoning.

Arcade is the talker of the group. He greets you with a loving hello whimper, and lets you know if he is not happy with sharp barks. Even when he going to sleep sometimes he lets out a little relaxing sigh. Consistency in discouraging the complaining barking is required so that he doesn't turn into a nuisance barker later in life.

He is working on housebreaking and usually goes to the door and whines. He sleeps in a crate at night and for long naps. He is the typical puppy - lots of work. Just like having a newborn baby, household chores get done while he's napping. Constant supervision is needed or he will chew inappropriately or give up at the door and find another spot to potty.

He is well worth all the work though. He is a friendly, confident boy that enjoys meeting people. He loves to play with whatever toy you give him. Arcade is still learning to quietly accept his baths. He lives with cats but barks at them and gets a warning hiss. He will learn to ignore them with more time.

Right now he has swollen tonsils, which cause him some discomfort after eating quickly. The vet thinks it may be allergies, but wants to wait on any treatment. He may need antibiotics or prednisone at a later point. He also gets carsick, maybe because of his tonsils. Gradually building up the ride time on an empty stomach should help him overcome this.

A new home, family, and separation from his siblings will be tough, so he needs a home with a friendly dog to be his adopted sibling and to teach him how to be a dog.

This dog is a Level 3. Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. Go to our GCGSR Dogs page for an explanation of the Dog Rating Levels.
