My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Farfel's Rescue was notified by our compassionate rescuer in New Mexico that a very beautiful and sweet Miniature Australian Shepherd (maybe with just a touch of Border Collie) would be scheduled for euthanasia in just a few days. Although it's difficult to tell in this photo, Rosey is beautiful...with the softest and kindest eyes that just reach into your heart. The rescuer spoke of this approximately 18 month old, 27 lb sweetheart as a gift of love. These very popular Miniature Australian Shepherds are now being opportunistically bred for their beautiful looks and sweet and very intelligent personalities.
After one look at the sad eyes staring out of the shelter photo and reading the reports of Rosey's sweetness that speaks of a desire to trust and bond...we accepted her immediately into Farfel's Rescue.

Rosey looked every bit the stray as she came into a very high-kill shelter in New Mexico. But…under all that hair and matting..we see a truly adorable girl with the sweetest soul imaginable. Rosey deserves a great life every bit as much as any other living being. She has a wonderful disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved. Once comfortable, Rosey is never one to turn down an open lap or a friendly canine companion. She tries so hard to show that she's worthy of a permanent family to love and respect her. Her beautiful long tail wags hesitantly when she sees a possibility for a pat or any loving gesture. She would be overjoyed if she got attention…it would bring a light to those sad eyes!

Rosey has the most beautiful cotton-soft coat. She will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her hair healthy, shining and matt-free.

We're seeking a family for Rosey that wants to spend lots of time with a furry best friend. She would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in by people who love her…and she will return that devotion a million times over once she understands that she can trust. We feel that Rosey would enjoy a retired couple or individual or a family with very gentle children (no tail-pulling or awkward carrying please) who will consider Rosey a best friend and therefore be very loving and kind to her.

Rosey would be overjoyed with walks and hiking in the sunshine. She really loves to get up and go...followed by some quality cuddling time on the couch. It's a new life of hope and fun that this sensitive girl is pursuing…she'll be so successful with the knowledge that she has been chosen to be a member of a family who truly loves and respects their fuzzy family members.

We've requested that Rosey be spayed prior to her transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this industrial area of New Mexico. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Rosey's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Rosey will arrive on transport in Denver on Saturday 4/29/17. If interested in this sweet and very loving companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
