PIPPA's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

PIPPA here...I'm a 1 1/2 year old female Boxer.   I was an abuse case rescued by the SPCA.  My prior owners put a collar on me when I was a puppy...and as I grew...they never took it off.  It became imbedded in my neck and had to be surgically removed.  I was also severely malnourished and literally down to skin and bones.

The SPCA contacted HBR to come and get me.  My foster Mom saw me on Facebook and decided to take her first step as a foster and take care of ME!  Boy, was I lucky.  She is doing a fantastic job.  She has helped me to gain weight.  She has been very patient with me as I met my foster dog and cat friends.  I am gradually coming out of my shell and learning how to trust humans again.

I have a way to go on the road to recovery, but I am one lucky girl.  If you want to learn more about me, just find HBR on Facebook and follow my amazing progress.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PIPPA, a Houston Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Houston, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
