Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lee is an exceptionally intelligent 9-10 year old Senior Dog with an unbreakable spirit and a wise soul. Easy-going, happy, gentle, and a real pleasure to love. Lee wants nothing more than to sit beside you as you read a book or to take him on a walk.
Not much is known about his past. He was pulled out of a shelter but Lee must have had someone's care because of his good behavior and training. There is no need for a loud voice with Lee because he understands what is expected of him. Lee is house trained but he does not like to be crated or confined. Because he is very reliable in the home, his foster does not find a crate necessary for him. He would do best in a home with another canine companion to be his buddy and keep him company when alone or he will have a tendency to get anxious.
Lee enjoys cats and gets along very well with the 3 cats in his foster home. He has a tendency to be very vocal with low moans and some howls when he's in a happy mood. Lee walks perfectly on a loose lead with pride and confidence and enjoys his daily walks. Lee will perk up when he sees a squirrel or bunny so you must stay alert on walks but with a simple command of "leave it", he will pass them by quietly. His foster home includes 3 other dogs and he loves and plays with each but they were all introduced slowly so as not to overwhelm him.
Lee seems to enjoy being with children and lights up with every new person he meets.
Lee is a big, beautiful boy, about 60 lbs with some husky/shepherd mixed with collie so he will need a fenced yard to give him room to stretch his legs as well as daily walks/exercise. If you have what is needed to provide this special boy with a home of his own, please apply.
Lee may be visited in his foster home in Western PA with an approved application
