I was taken in by a lady who found me as a stray, and planned to keep me.  However, her 16 year old cat was stressed that he was no longer the only cat.  I am spayed, have a microchip, & am current on all my vaccines.  My previous owner said that I am very playful.  I go full speed all the time.  Only when I wear out, do I stop and allow someone to pet me.  I will play with a laser pointer non stop.

~~All of our adoptable animals are up to date on routine vaccinations and spayed or neutered.  If the animal is too young a certificate for the spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee.  Many times our animals are microchipped. To apply online, go to

Many of our animals can be seen at our monthly adoption events at the Texarkana PetSmart on the third Saturday of every month.  We also have cats available in the Cat Adoption Center inside PetSmart.  To make arrangements to meet any of our animals, please call us at 1-877-525-4825, option 1.

About Texarkana Animal League

About Our Rescue Group...

Texarkana Animal League (TAL) is a group of volunteers that is dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in our shelter & the community. Although we are no longer involved in the day to day operations of running a facility, our mission has not changed:

The Texarkana Animal League exists to provide protection and care for abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted companion animals. We also want to promote animal welfare through programs and services that mutually benefit animals and people.

All proceeds will benefit animal care and adoptions, and will assist with our new community outreach programs such as a low-income spay/neuter assistance program, as well as educational and service projects to assist TAL's belief that all animals are deserving of life, respect and care. In 2008, over 2200 shelter animals received vaccinations & vet care from funds raised and we will continue to provide the same care to shelter animals this year. In 2009, we anticipate altering at least 250 animals in the community with the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program and funding an in-house spay/neuter clinic at the Animal Care & Adoption Center of Texarkana that will alter shelter animals prior to adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at the Texarkana PetSmart on the first and third Saturdays of ever month. We also have the cat adoption center in the Texarkana PetSmart. Please contact us at 877-525-4825 to make arrangements to see any of our adoptable animals
