Canela's Story...
CANELA

This is Canela, Spanish for cinnamon, and her coloring is like a Snickerdoodle cookie!!
Canela is a 5.5 pound, Tiny Terrier mix.  She is a year old and loves to play with squeaky toys!
She loves to play with other dogs her size, and is good with big dogs.  She will chase cats if they run, but If they stop she hightails it the other direction!  She is shy at first but will bond quickly with her new humans, and is very loving and affectionate. She is very petite and should be in a home without small children.  Canela is learning to use pee pads inside and would quickly learn how to use a doggie door.  She's really smart!  She's a dear soul and just wants to be with her human!
If you would like to make Canela a part of your family please fill out an application online at www.lapdogrescue.org and include her name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Canela, a Tijeras Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
