My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet NINA

Nina is sweet and loving but extremely shy. In her short life she was abandoned and then moved from kennel to kennel to make space for other dogs. Nina is a lovely dog with a lot of potential but she is definitely going to be a project.

She will probably blossom in time but will need to be worked with consistently and probably with a trainer’s guidance. She does like all dogs (probably better than people right now) and played with a small dog in her foster home, but she can play rough and does not understand boundaries so she can be inappropriate without even knowing or understanding why. Nina has not shown any signs of aggression and has not bitten anyone, her MO would more likely be to back away in avoidance or run away if she feels uncomfortable.

In her foster home Nina was quite shy to start but did warm up when she felt safe and secure. But once she warms up to you she won't leave your side! Her favorite thing to do is wrestle with her foster dog brother and run around and play with him outside in the yard. While she is still a puppy and quite energetic, Nina can also be loving.

Because she was abandoned so young everything is new to her and needs to be learned and understood. She is eager to learn though and loves to be told what a good girl she is.

Nina's DOB is 3/28/16. She is being crate trained, and is learning to walk well on a leash.

Someone experienced with large dogs and her breeds would be ideal. She has not been cat tested and should not be placed with small young children as she could possibly knock them over.

Nina will do best in a quiet, patient home (ideally a house with a yard as she isn't an apartment dog) with adults and possibly another dog to play with. This sweet beauty is a diamond in the rough and we believe she will make someone a wonderful loyal companion.

Nina has been spayed, microchipped, and is current on vaccinations.
