Buttercup is a one year old female Havanese. She is slender with long legs and weighs 10.5 lbs. Buttercup has been professionally groomed and looks “pawsitively” adorable despite having her beautiful coat shaved due to severe matting and neglect. When her hair grows out she will have a long, wavy, gorgeous white and light blond coat with gold highlights. She is a very friendly young dog who will happily stay by your side, come when you call and gobble down the treats that you give her. She loves to be near her favorite people and will follow them from room to room where she will settle down in the coziest spot. Provide her with lots of doggy beds or she will steal your favorite seat! Buttercup has lots of energy. She loves to run and play and go for nice long walks. She still has many puppy attributes and likes to chew on her elk antlers and race about with a toy in her mouth. She enjoys a good game of chase, so have your tennis shoes ready! She likes to be cuddled and will happily sleep in your bed, but she will also sleep in her own doggy bed if you insist. Buttercup is beautifully housetrained. She doesn’t use a potty pad. She does however have a large bark for such a small dog, so we believe that condo or townhome living won’t be a good fit for her. Buttercup is a sweet, high spirited young dog full of unbridled joy and happiness. She requires basic training and needs to be adopted by a person who has some experience training a young dog. If Buttercup becomes a member of your family you are guaranteed a lifetime of bouncy, kissy-face, grateful welcomes and that very special kind of love and devotion that only a rescue dog who has known fear and neglect can provide.
