Snowball is a cute little 11 lb, 7 year old Maltese (groomer thinks Maltese/Poodle due to fur being curly) , we know he will make someone a nice companion. He is good with all size dogs, but we don't know about cats. He is good with women, but unsure of men he doesn't know. He likes kids but due to his small size he needs a home with teenagers or older. He was surrendered to a shelter (owner moving) so we had some info. We saw his little fluff ball and decided we wanted to take him into our rescue. He had to be shaved down due to being matted, was neutered and had to loose a lot of teeth(only has canines on top), he is able to eat hard kibble but loves canned food also. He likes to chew on small bones. As his fur grows in again he will need to learn how to be brushed. He appears to be housetrained, couple accidents on a rug by the door so wondering if pee pads were used previously. He is learning to play with toys, and his foster mom says he is smart. He plays with a stuffed ball and it is cute to watch him toss it in the air. He likes to sit on your lap when he wants to, but not for long periods and he is not a big cuddle dog. Snowball like many small dogs has some quirks like he thinks he is 'Mighty'. In new situations it is best to go slow till you've earned his trust, with patience you will enjoy bonding/growing closer. We are not sure, but think he most likely was not always treated nicely, and probably teased. Due to this he will need a home where the people are patient and let him adjust . It is sad that this adorable dog was not treated right for the first 7 yrs of his life and now he deserves someone who will help him to learn and help him to be the best little companion he can be.
