My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ANGEL

Spayed Female   Black, White & Tan     Poodle/Shih Tzu Terrier Mix     1 to 2 Yrs.    7.8 lbs.

                                                                  Fee:  $350

What a year this has been!  I can’t remember just how, but I wound up as a stray dog and was picked up and taken to a public shelter.  From there the poodle rescue people took me in.And-- lucky me-- they put me in a foster home so I wouldn’t have to live in the kennel while I wait for my new forever home.  Having a foster mom has been the next best thing to heaven – heaven itself would be meeting you, my new forever person, and going home with you to my new life.

My foster mom and I have gotten to know one another really well (I love hanging out with her and talking to her) and she thinks Angel is a very good name for me.  She says I’m a “healthy, happy dog who lives up to her name 99% of the time.”  99% of the time sounds really good to me!  She also says that I am “very sweet, friendly (yet shy), and submissive.”  Most importantly she says that I am a “major snuggle muffin,” and that my “big eyes tug at (her) heart strings.”  I think all of that is accurate!  I just love it when she lets me cuddle with her on the couch, get my tummy rubbed and curl up in the crook of the arm.  It doesn’t get much more heavenly than that!

Some of my favorite things are walks (I LOVE my walks!), squeaky toys, chew ropes and rearranging everything in my crate.  I’m a natural interior decorator when it comes to my crate!  And getting my tummy rubbed is just the best (or did I mention that already?)   I like playing with other dogs, even big ones.  And even though I’m a little shy at first, I do like meeting new people.

Living up to being an Angel isn’t easy, but I’m learning fast and getting there.   I’m much better about walking on the leash than I use to be, though I have to admit that I sometimes forget and pull a bit (let’s face it --even the best angel’s halo slips a little now and then, and I’m really young).  I never have accidents in my crate or x-pen and only once in a great while in the rest of the house – once again I’m young and new at this, but learning fast!   I didn’t have anyone to teach me before I came to my foster mom, so I’m hoping I will get a new family with someone who will continue to train me.  I’ll do my part, I promise.  Oh, and I’m not a barker, so you won’t have a yappy little devil getting on your nerves.  I think that’s a huge plus, don’t you?

If you’re looking for an angel to bring a little bit of heaven into your life, well, that’s what I’m looking for too, so please talk to the poodle rescue people and arrange to meet me.  We will both be walking on clouds in no time, I’m sure of that!

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.

The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
