Maybelline's Story...
Meet Miss Maybelline! Maybelline came to us originally as a stray and has taken a little while to completely warm up to the staff here at the shelter. She might take a little longer to adjust to a new home and new environment, but once she does she is a very nice girl. Maybelline loves to show her affection by rubbing up against you and giving lots of head butts. She can be a bit of a diva and would love to be treated like the Princess she thinks she is. She would do best in a home with adults or older children only as she has been known to swat at people occasionally when she is being bothered. Maybelline is a bit on the chunky side and would benefit from a portion controlled, low calorie diet to help her shed a few pounds and get down to a healthy weight. She is nervous at first around other cats but she can probably live with a mellow male. She is shy but can live with the most cat-savvy of dogs that will be respectful of her. If you would like to meet Maybelline please come to the front desk and fill out an application so you can meet her today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maybelline, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
