My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Holy awesome...this is JD. Named for the bright green (John Deere style) collar he was wearing when he turned up stray, he is one great dog! He's still very much active and fun, but a bit more settled than a puppy (not a big bit...but a bit!). He is just a sweet guy who shows no behaviours consistent with mistreatment - doesn't appear to come with any baggage and definitely doesn't have trust issues. He really likes all people, and dogs also.

The jury is still out on cats, we weren't able to arrange a cat test yet, but will as soon as we can. He was very vocal on transport and when he was in his crate missing out on other dogs shuffling around, but he has not made much noise since entering foster care. He seems to be an easy keeper, and as per his foster parents, he is house-trained and knows basic commands like sit, down, and paw. He's a quick study in house rules and manners and he's doing well on walks, other than some interest in squirrels and some pulling, which is improving. There seems to be a pattern among all who've met him with belly rubs...he lives for them! He's very affectionate and loves to be up on the furniture with the people, cuddling away.

JD appears to be mainly healthy but does have an old fracture of his left femur, which appears to have set without treatment, and causes him to skip a step here and there and not put weight on it when standing still. He's fully capable of activity and it seems to be something that's healed and he's living with without too much issue. His foster family feel he'd be a great fit as a family dog. He just loves people and affection, and he is bursting with love and silliness to share with some lucky family.
