Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Well, hello! They call me Beatrice, and I'm a 15-pound hunk of love! I'm also a sweet, calm dilute calico Turkish Van/ domestic short hair mix who was born in March 2011. I'm considered a Turkish Van mix because I'm mostly white with gray and honey markings on my face mask, ears, and tail. The Turks would say that the spots on my back are the blessed thumbprints of God.
I guess you've already noticed from my glamour shot that I have large, expressive emerald-green eyes that will take your breath away. And don't you just love my 'Liz Taylor' beauty mark just under my nose on my right lip? I might add that I'm a sensory delight because my fur is as soft as a bunny's.
I love to be petted and especially to be scratched right at the base of my tail! Boy, howdy, does my foster mom know what sends me into a swoon of ecstasy! I like to accompany my foster mom when she's lying in bed reading mystery novels. Just in case she's scared, I reassure her by resting my head and front paws on her tummy!
Things were not always so tranquil for me. I was happily adopted as a kitten from Buster's Friends but somehow ended up at a kill shelter. Man, oh man, those barking dogs stressed me out -- not to mention my being uprooted from what I thought was my forever home.
No worries as I have now adjusted to the sights and sounds of my foster home. As much as I like it here, I realize that it's just a temporary stopping-off place for me as my foster mom is trying to find me a LIFETIME home this time around. Since I'm no longer a kitten like before, my foster mom thinks it best that I be adopted into a family without children, or with older children or, at least, gentle children. Although I'm good with the big, friendly dog in my foster home, I hiss at the other cats, so I probably should be in a home without other cats.
Could you be that special someone who is looking for a kitty to cuddle with you and to palpate your tummy ever so quietly? Then, I'm your girl!
Beatrice is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Beatrice, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.
To make the process more efficient, download the adoption application at http://www.bustersfriends.org/catadoptionapplication.shtml.
