My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Taps is a 4 year old black and white Pit mix born on December 12th 2012. He is very loving towards people, and especially gentle around small children. He loves to be around humans, and will attach himself to his new owner like a shadow. I have never had a more loving, nor a more emotionally receptive dog who seems to know how to make you feel better no matter what your day has been like. He loves chew toys, and will return a ball very well to you, and saying release will cause him to drop it near you. He obeys commands like sit, lay down, stay, easy, relax, heel, and up which makes him dance on his hind legs. He is a very strong dog, and he needs more training while on walks, but after a half mile or so he will become worn out quickly and calm down more. I am currently working with a trainer to help with walks. He is dog aggressive in certain situations, even though he has lived with other dogs. He just needs proper introduction, and time to adjust to the animal before allowing free range with them. However, it is probably best that an owner looking for a single dog for themselves adopts him unless you have an easy going submissive dog which is what he has grown up with, and who he loves dearly. He has also lived with three different cats, and been introduced to 3 others for short term stays with friends. It takes a day or two of him wanting to smell them, and allowing the cats to establish their boundaries before he stops following them around. He's never hurt any of them or attacked, but he will establish his boundaries as well if they are aggressive, but as I said it has never taken longer then couple of days before he is comfortable with them, sleeping near them, and just being generally calm and passive with them. If they attack him he will simply step back and go sit somewhere else. He truly is the best dog I have ever owned, and he is my best friend, but he needs someone who has more time to give him the love and attention he needs because I work long hours at an extremely physical job where I come home and have little energy or time to care for him. Please feel free to contact me for more information, or to schedule a time to meet him. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him right away, he is such a sweet and loving dog that deserves more than I can provide him at this time.
