Hi, my name is Jersey. I’m pretty shy and don’t like to talk about myself much, but here goes….
I might be slow to get comfortable with you, but once I am, I’ll be the sweetest girl you’d ever want to meet. My current mama calls me Sweetie Face. That should tell you something. I love the snow and being outside. I’ll lie down in the snow in the yard and watch for squirrels until I’m called to come inside, and then I come running.
I listen really well, unless I’m running free.. that’s a work in progress! I have a lot of energy, but my moms just can’t keep up with me. I’d love a running partner or someone to at least take me on a couple really good walks.. I really like my exercise, and if I don’t get it I’ll sing you the song of my people or pace around the house.. sometimes I might even try to take myself on a walk.. whoops! If I see a rabbit….then I get really loud!! In the house, I’m very calm. I love to snuggle on the couch and love trying to be a lap dog. I’m not a big fan of being crated, so I get run of the house when I’m alone.
Small kids and big dogs make me nervous, but, just like people, once I’m comfortable, I’m cool. I’ll let other dogs know if I’m not ok with what they’re doing (jumping on my mommy or trying to have their way with me), but it’s just a lot of noise. We can work it out.
I guess you really just need to meet me to find out just how awesome I am. My mummy and mama love me very much, but they’re just not physically able to keep up with me actively. Don’t underestimate how much exercise I need…at least one long walk everyday. Skip a day, and I’ll let you know I’m bored by singing, and I’m not very good at singing 😉
Well, that’s it. Can’t wait to meet you

About Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

With over fifteen years combined experience in animal welfare and advocacy, we came together during the summer of 2013 after seeing a noticeable need for a companion animal rescue that not only rescued homeless animals, but that also worked with local organizations whose residents were no longer able to keep their companions. Educating the public on animal behaviour and responsible pet ownership became another area of interest, which would help to improve human-animal relations.

From this, the Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society was formed.

Our vision is simple: we are gearing towards a greater Edmonton where animals are treated with compassion and respect, and are cared for so no animal is left homeless.

Our Adoption Process...

An adoption application is required prior to setting up any meets with the animals.

After meeting the animal, if both GEARS and the applicant want to proceed with adoption, we sign an Adoption Contract.
