Houdini's Story...
It's not an illusion! This magical little girl is Houdini! Houdini has beautiful green eyes that are sure to make your heart melt. A super sweet girl, she loves her head and neck scratches. She kneads her blankets to much that she spins in circles with joy! Hear that? That's her purr. She has the loudest purr for such a tiny girl, and she's ready to use it! Houdini just loves Temptation treats and of course, catnip! But most of all, she just loves your pets and scratches. Houdini loves to bird watch, so sunny and bright windows are a must. Houdini will be scared at first and she's not crazy about being picked up because she's still new at this human thing, but once she knows you are her companion, she will snuggle in for all the love and pets she can get. Houdini would be best in a quiet home, without kids. Houdini is good with other cats, but we’re not sure how she is with dogs.
Houdini was found in a schoolyard after giving birth to kittens under a portable. Houdini and her kittens were caught, but she managed to escape. It took several weeks to catch her again. She stayed in foster for several months, but despite of all the loving and TLC from her fosters, she was still scared and shy. Houdini wasn't sure what to make of the indoor life. Finally, after many months, she started to trust and even started to seek affection. She has come so far in her foster care - from being very shy and scared, to this very special girl who has learned to love and trust people.
Houdini is never escaping again - her forever home will be forever! With a calm and gentle family, her confidence will grow and in return for your love and affection, she will be a great companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Houdini, a Oakville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oakville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oakville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakville paves the way for another one to be saved.
