We are looking to place this dog within a 2.5 hour radius of Washington, DC but we can also consider other areas IF we have a volunteer that can accomplish a home visit and we have a safety net. Other areas could be North Carolina, southern areas of Virginia, Pittsburgh, PA area, Denver, CO area, San Diego area, San Francisco Area, Portland area and Seattle area.
Griffon was rescued from the Okinawa Prefecture Animal Control Center in Okinawa, Japan and he is now being fostered in the Northern Virginia area. He is approximately 18 months old but still very much a puppy. He is a very friendly, high energy boy that loves to play and needs plenty of daily exercise to be happy. He is currently getting a couple of long walks/runs a day and play time with other dogs. He is not good with cats and better with older children (10+) because he still jumps up and will use his teeth when playing. He weighs in the 32 to 35 pound range. Griffon is fully house-broken and crate trained and at this time, needs to be crated when no one is home or he cannot be properly supervised because he will chew on inappropriate things. Griffon is a wee bit of a puller on walks and will need work with that. He knows several basic commands. Griffon's ideal home would be one with another playful dog, older children, a fenced yard where he can run and get energy out, no cats, and someone around a fair bit. He needs a very active family willing to get him out a couple of times a day for long walks/runs. Griffon has all vaccines, micro-chip, is neutered and is heart worm negative. He is current on heart worm preventative and flea/tick preventative. Adoption fee is $350.
