It's Halloween every day of the year with this beautiful,  autumn-colored cat! Ruby is a beautiful tortoiseshell cat, with fluffy  black fur and dark orange markings.

The mark on her forehead may mean she somehow survived an evil curse  from the world of Harry Potter- we can't confirm, but are looking into  it. She has big yellow-green eyes and black whiskers.

Like most medium-hair cats, she has almost all the fluffy beauty of a  longhair, but with almost no shedding.

Gorgeous 6-year-old Ruby needs a special owner. She loves to be petted  and loved, but can be a little reactive.  She has a loud motor and purrs up a storm for you, but you must be  gentle and pay attention to her signals that she has had enough. So  long as you pay attention to her very clear signals, she will not bite
or scratch, only swat with no claws.

Because of this, she would do best with someone who understands cats  well, or is willing to listen, learn and offer lots of patience and  love. In time, with the right person and lots of love, her foster mom
thinks she could learn to trust people, and stop all reactive  behaviors.

Ruby will be happiest as an only cat, or with an owner who can devote  time to helping her learn how not to be reactive and defensive with  other cats. Even more than most cats, she seems to need space, peace,
and quiet.

We don't yet know how she does around dogs. She might do well with a  child 6+ who understands how to be gentle with an animal, but should  not go to a home with young children.

She loves deli turkey, tuna, and lots of petting and love. Come meet  this beautiful Halloween girl before someone else takes her home!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
