My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor Heidi had a horrid beginning. She was taken out of a hoarding home along with 15 other Shih Tzus who were found in deplorable condition. As is usually the case in these situations, she was completely matted and smelled of urine. In fact, she needed to be sedated just to allow the groomer to cut her out of her matted armor. In spite of this, Heidi has a super sweet personality. While it does take her a bit to warm up, once she does, she is a genuine lap dog. She whines to be picked up and cuddled and will spend hours sitting quietly in your lap.
Heidi is 6-7 years old and has been seen by the vet. She does need to be spayed but Heidi has a persistent cough that does not seem to go away. She had a full work-up down at Red Bank specialty hospital and they were not able to find anything wrong. Her heart and lungs are fine so they believe she just has a chronic condition that seems to act like seasonal allergies. This is unusual since most dogs exhibit their allergies to pollen and such on their skin. Heidi appears to have symptoms more like ours that are respiratory in nature. You can see in her photos how the Spring allergies are bothering her. We will have her spayed as soon as she gets thru this season.
Heidi does have her shots and is microchipped. She is a quiet girl who will make a nice companion for someone.
