Ruby - Adopted!'s Story...
Ruby was referred to our rescue by her vet, when he learned that her owner was seriously ill and could no longer care for her. She is said to be a chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund mix) but we're not entirely sure of her lineage. What we do know is that she's a total and complete doll! Three-year-old Ruby has a fuzzy soft coat with a pretty feathered tail, and she weighs about 20 pounds. She loves to be stroked, and will put her paws up on your lap and nudge you if you aren't petting her enough! She's housetrained, good with cats and other dogs, but does prefer to hang around with smaller dogs like herself. Ruby is selective about male humans, so if a family with men is interested in her, we'll have to see how she reacts to them. She's wonderful with women and children, though. With them, and with some men, Ruby is outgoing, friendly and loves to cuddle. She's an alert, active girl who's on the move if she's not being snuggled (making it difficult to get a clear photograph!). We know Ruby will be a delight for whatever lucky family gets to take her home!
