Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ramsey! Ramsey is a purebred Norwegian Elkhound who found himself in the shelter after his owner's health issues made it impossible for her to care for him. He is 13 years old but could easily be mistaken as a 5-6 year old with all of his energy and playfulness! He is 39lbs but very, very strong! He is currently learning leash skills and is being taught to not pull on walks. He is very active and would be great for someone who loves to walk, hike or go on runs with their dog. After arriving in rescue, Ramsey was neutered, had senior bloodwork done and had a hernia repaired. He is now a very healthy boy!
Ramsey loves to nudge you for pets or gently hop up to wrap his paws around you for a hug. He enjoys playing with toys and knows the commands sit and stay. He is very intelligent and we think he would be a quick learner if his future owner wanted to teach him other commands! He is housebroken and crate trained. He is a sweet boy who is living in a foster home with several other dogs of large and small sizes. He also lives with 3 children ages 4 and under. He is very sweet and well behaved in their presence. He has reportedly lived with cats and birds in his past.
Ramsey is an active boy who would do best with an equally active owner! If interested in Ramsey, please complete an application at www.seniordoghaven.org. Any questions can be sent to info@seniordoghaven.org.
