Meet Pinta!  Pinta is 40 lb, 3 year old very smart and active Cattle dog mix.  Pinta is eager to please and MUST be the alpha girl of the house.  She can initially have some issues settling into her pack (especially with dogs smaller than her). But she is very fast learner and will listen to a strong alpha leader.  She loves water and going to the beach to play.  She loves her toys and is happy to rest by your feet.  She does best with larger dogs, as her play can get rough.  She is ok around children, but jumps to greet people and would not do well with a small child. Pinta came to us with an injury and one eye was removed in November of 2015.  Pinta is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations.  Her adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies.    ♥

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.

About Second Chance Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance Dog Rescue was formed to fulfill a desperate need in the community to Rescue, Rehabilitate & Re-home homeless dogs from the over-crowded local shelters, and from families who can no longer take care of their dogs (on a case-by-case basis only).

Our program is based on foster care, and all rescued dogs spend their first days at a loving foster home where they receive personalized care. As part of our program, we ensure that all dogs are vaccinated, are spayed or neutered, and have been socialized by their foster family. In addition, Second Chance Dog Rescue provides support for potential new owners and monitors progress for both new pet parents and their adopted dogs. This helps guarantee that our dogs go to good, loving, forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Visit our website at www.SecondChanceDogRescue.org for a list of upcoming Adoption Events. Additionally, our foster parents may schedule one on one meetings with potential owners and provide a personalized adoption experience.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an Adoption Questionnaire to be completed - whether online or in person - before meeting any of our dogs. Upon approval of the Questionnaire, a potential adopter will be required to complete an Adoption Contract and pay adoption fees. All of our adoptions start with the first 2 weeks as a 'trial' period, to ensure the adoption is a good fit. Adoption of a puppy may require a refundable training deposit, which will be refunded upon completion of training with a Certfied dog trainer, and submission of certificate of completion to our office.
