MEET  CASEY 4!!!!!

My name is Casey. I am a Basset Hound / Black & Tan Coon Hound Mix. I am just shy of 3 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, house trained & crate trained. I am very friendly but leery of strangers. I am a big sweetheart that wants a gentle family that will give me some much needed tlc. Things have been a bit rough for me lately. I was picked up as a stray when I was pregnant. My foster Mamma gave me a wonderful place to have my puppies but out of 11 only 5 of them survived. I was very scared and untrusting of people and would only let my foster touch the top of my head…..the rest of my body was off limits. I am over that with her now but still a bit untrusting of other people touching me. I am not mean and I never snapped or tried to bite my foster I would just move away from her hand. I don’t like quick movements, probably because of things that happened in my past. I prefer to be outdoors so would love a fenced in yard that I could hang out in during the day when the weather is nice but want to come in at night and bond with my new family. Once I get to know you I am a big hunk of love! Please, someone just give me a chance.

About Underdog Rescue of Arizona

About Our Rescue Group...

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
If you are interested in a specific pet, please complete our adoption application found on our website and we can then coordinate a meet and greet.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website:

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.
