CaRMaH (formerly Metrowest Animal Awareness Society) is an all volunteer, no-kill cat rescue group serving the Marlborough/Hudson area. Our cats are 'lap fostered' in our homes!

I’m Smith, a tuxedo cat with a secret.  I’ll tell you my secret in a minute.  I will tell you that I really enjoy having my ears scratched, and I cannot get enough belly scrubs.  My secret is I was supposed to be a barn cat – I was an older feral kitten, and would not tame up, so I joined a couple of buddies outside.   But, my caregiver realized I was just not smart enough to be a barn kitty.  I’d sit in the road sunning myself, or chase my buddies across the road in front of cars.  So, she brought us in.  Slowly, I allowed her to tame me – offering me treats, slowly luring me on the couch.  Oh, but what joy I felt when she pet me and scratched my ears and rubbed my belly – such bliss!  I am still quite skittish, and easily run off.  However, with just a shake of the treat bag, I’ll come on up for attention.  I need a home that will be patient and persistent, probably not with very noisy people.  I love other cats – I glue myself to their side in joy. I would love to be adopted with another kitty.

I am about a year old, and in fabulous health.

Care to give a guy with a secret a chance?

All of our cats are tested for FeLV/FIV, up to date on vaccinations, and spay/neutered before adoption. The adoption fee is $200 for kittens or $125 for adults. The best, and fastest way to reach us is e-mail: adoptacat@carmah.org .

About Metrowest Animal Awareness Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non-profit no-kill feline rescue group serving the Metrowest area of MA. since 2002. We do not have a shelter, we are an all volunteer group, fostering cats and kittens in our home. Our focus is TNR, fostering and adoption. We have many cats and kittens available for the right loving home. You can visit our kitties in their foster homes, or at our "Meow Mixers" held at local pet stores, two Saturdays per month. Please check our website, www.metrowestaware.org, for dates and details. We welcome new volunteers and donations! You can download an adoption application from our website and send it in via email, or 'snail mail'.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold "Meow Mixers" 2 Saturdays per month, at local pet stores. You can fill out an application on site, and visit with our adoptable cats and kittens. The Meow Mixer is an opportunity to meet our kitties, but we do not finalize adoptions at these events, since our kitties need to visit the vet one more time for a health certificate, prior to adoption. You can also meet our kitties in their foster homes, a great way to see them when they are relaxed and playful!

Our Adoption Process...

Each applicant must fill out an application to be reviewed by our adoption committee. For applicants with a prior vet history, vet references are checked. If there is no prior vet history, we ask for 2 personal references. The application approval process can take 2-6 days. Applications can be downloaded from our website, returned by email or 'snail mail', or can be filled out in person at our Meow Mixers. At the time of adoption, the applicant will sign an adoption agreement and pay an adoption fee of $150 per kitten, $100 per adult over 1 year of age.
