Additional info: Snoopy is coming out of his shell, and he’s awesome!

Snoopy had a rough start to life. He was living in a home where he did not receive a lot of love or attention and he was frequently attacked by another bigger dog in the home. He spent a lot of time hiding under the bed just to avoid being bullied. Because of his past, he can be initially timid in new situations and with very sudden movements or loud noises, so he would do best in a home with no small kids.

It only took about a week for him to come out of his shell in his foster home, and now that he feels safe his happy, silly personality has come out and he is like a completely different dog! He is a very sweet, loving, little boy who loves belly rubs, walks, and sleeping. (He loves a good nap under the blankets and would make the ideal Netflix binging companion!)

Snoopy is really good with other nice dogs but he has never learned to play with them, though he is starting to enjoy playing with rope toys on his own. He also never learned how to give kisses, but we’re sure a little peanut butter would do wonders in that training department. Snoopy is playful with his foster parents and enjoys jumping around and chasing them or rolling onto his back and being silly, but he is mostly content with being a couch potato. He is generally a very quiet dog, but he will bark when someone comes to the door or if he hears loud noises or other dogs outside. He is 100% crate trained, has no separation anxiety at all, and will even go hang out in his crate during the day to take naps. He is house trained as long as he is walked regularly, at least 4 times a day, otherwise he may have an accident due to his tiny Chihuahua bladder. While Snoopy is good with dogs in most situations, he does need some work meeting new dogs on walks. He gets overly excited on walks whenever he sees a dog and he will bark and pull to meet them, but then gets scared and acts out when he gets too close. With his past, this is not surprising, but we’re sure that this will improve with additional love and training.

Snoopy is ready for his forever home and to receive the love he was missing before Dogs Without Borders found him.
