Sweet and gentle Romeo is a laid back gentleman who just wants to be safe and loved. Romeo likes to relax near his people. He is content to lay on a cozy blanket, a soft pillow, or his bed. He also loves to catch some rays on a cool, sunny day. If you are looking for a Bulldog who will always be by your side to snuggle and cuddle, Romeo could be the one for you.

Romeo is the kindest and gentlest dog his foster family has ever known. He  is not dominant and has no aggression issues whatsoever with other dogs, food, or toys. He is crate and leash trained and can be left unattended with no issues.

This sweet fella does NOT like to exercise. AT ALL. Well, unless you count the happy dance he does when it's breakfast and dinner time. Romeo will bark and wiggle until his food is placed in front of him. It's totally adorable!

Romeo does have arthritis and dry eye that require daily medications. He did have chronic ear infections before so his ears need to be monitored and cleaned. His canals do have some hardening due to this neglect. Romeo is very good about taking his eye and joint medications and waits to get his treat afterwards. He would not do well in a home or apartment with stairs or with small children who could be rough with him.  Romeo requires a high-quality, grain-free food to keep his coat shiny and his skin clear. He is crate-trained and will enter his kennel on command. Just about any type of home would be great for Romeo, so long as there are plenty of opportunities for snuggling and snoozing with his people! Of course he would love to have a person to keep him company during the day, but he would also be just fine staying at home with his doggie companion (with a midday break to use the facilities, of course). Romeo would also make an excellent take-to-work dog, as long as you don’t expect him to do much more than nap at your feet!

About Short Mugs Rescue Squad

About Our Rescue Group...

Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home French Bulldogs that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, strays, commercial breeding kennels, import brokers and private rescue groups.

Although our main focus is on French Bulldogs we will try to help place English Bulldogs, Bostons, Pugs and other Bulldog breeds in other reputable rescue groups. If we have room we will help any of these breeds that are in need and each dog will be evaluated on an individual basis. Our goal is to network with various Bulldog, Boston and Pug Rescues to get these breeds out of harm’s way and placed in forever homes.
