My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BB is an 8 years old sweet Beable pure and simple. She loves to be with her human(s). She is a special needs dog in that she isn't a dog that is going to run, jump and play. Due to her being overweight she has a hard time going up and down stairs. She only likes to be outside if her human(s) are outside but she will walk around the yard and explore.

She is very tolerant with other dogs as we have overnight guests every Fri. night. We have 6 dogs of our own here.

We have been very selective in what we have been feeding her since she was 70 lbs when we got her. At the last vet visit in FEb. she was 66. The most recent check up on May 3rd showed that she is 59.8 lbs. She has lost 11 lbs since we rescued her! BB has hypothyroidism which is part of the reasons that caused her overweight. She will have to be on Throxine the rest of her life. She has a pill in the morning and one in the evening.

Her diet has consisted of various varieties of A TASTE of the Wild or Nature's Select. These foods are high protein and have no grain, soy or gluten. We are feeding BB late morning and in her dry food we put 2 tablespoons of yogurt, some carrots or green beans or pumpkin. We are putting the additional fibrous vegetables in her food to make her feel full since we are feeding her less than when she lst got here. For a bit she was eating her poop in the yard so she must feel full now because she's not doing that any more! The yogurt seems to help her skin as she seems to be 'yeasty'... We do notice a difference in how red her skin gets when she does not have the yogurt.

BB has battled ear infections and may have an allergy to something external or internal. She has one currently.

So this chubby little soul is no bother and just wants to be loved. She isn't real social but does interact a little with the other dogs. She really just wants to be with her humans. If you leave the room, she will howl and whine but it eventually subsides...

BB's adoption fee is $250.

BB is with her foster mom. Submit the adoption application at http://charlieswishanimalrescue.org/adoption.html to meet with BB.
