Meet Sweetie and her lovely brother Thor!  Sweetie and Thor were both adopted together many years ago and have been living in harmony together ever since.   They were given up when both their owners passed  away recently....months apart. There was no one to care for them for so the family asked us to take the sweet pair back.

They are both little chihuahua's- Sweetie is a youthful 7 years old and Thor is about 13. You would NEVER know he is a senior though. His coat is like mink....soft, healthy, and thick. Most of the time, they are content to just hang out.

Thor is light in color....like a latte with extra cream! Sweetie is content being carried around but also loves to chill in the bottom of her foster's closet or in a kennel. She is respectful, smart, and gentle.

These are lovely, loving little dogs. They love to cuddle...especially Thor. They occasionally play with one another like puppies. But mostly they are content to hang out near each other and close to you.  They are easy keepers! Loyal, loving, sweet, quiet. They would best enjoy a calm home. Both love to lie in the sunshine! They walk well on a leash too. Although they are somewhat independent of one another,  they do love each other  and curl up at night to sleep together.  Both are good with other dogs and people. They are wonderful dogs and will love you forever!!!

Sweetie and Thor are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.   The adoption fee for the pair is $300.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.

Thank you for visiting our dogs located at www.SecondChanceDogRescue.org

About Second Chance Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance Dog Rescue was formed to fulfill a desperate need in the community to Rescue, Rehabilitate & Re-home homeless dogs from the over-crowded local shelters, and from families who can no longer take care of their dogs (on a case-by-case basis only).

Our program is based on foster care, and all rescued dogs spend their first days at a loving foster home where they receive personalized care. As part of our program, we ensure that all dogs are vaccinated, are spayed or neutered, and have been socialized by their foster family. In addition, Second Chance Dog Rescue provides support for potential new owners and monitors progress for both new pet parents and their adopted dogs. This helps guarantee that our dogs go to good, loving, forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Visit our website at www.SecondChanceDogRescue.org for a list of upcoming Adoption Events. Additionally, our foster parents may schedule one on one meetings with potential owners and provide a personalized adoption experience.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an Adoption Questionnaire to be completed - whether online or in person - before meeting any of our dogs. Upon approval of the Questionnaire, a potential adopter will be required to complete an Adoption Contract and pay adoption fees. All of our adoptions start with the first 2 weeks as a 'trial' period, to ensure the adoption is a good fit. Adoption of a puppy may require a refundable training deposit, which will be refunded upon completion of training with a Certfied dog trainer, and submission of certificate of completion to our office.
