My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES BETHANY INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!

Bethany is a young female German Shepherd who was rescued from a high kill shelter just in time. She is now in a loving foster home and this is Bethany's story:

"I am a petite girl and my foster mama says that I am what they call a lap dog! Don't worry, I will keep you warm in the winter time and probably the summer too. I am on guard at all times and if someone comes in the house, I will surely let you know. I am good with kids and cats too. I like other dogs but I can be a bit over bearing when my human is around me. I am learning to walk on a leash but I don't like it however, I will get used to it. I also don't like a crate but will settle down after a few minutes. I am a puppy so I DO like to chew things so my foster mom says you need to make sure shoes are up off the floor. I love love to play ball and can do it for hours. I am a medium energy girl.

Also, it would help me lots if I were to have obedience training. I am learning how to sit, with treats of course. I will need slow introductions to other dogs in the house. After I get to know them, I love to play with them except, the ball is mine. However, I probably would not do well with a dog that has a dominant personality because I too, think I am queen bee. I will bark at strange new people and I am stand offish until I get to know them. I sleep in the bed with my foster mom and dad even though I have my very own bed. I am such a loving girl. Won't you make me a part of your family today? I promise years of love and devotion."

If you would like to make Bethany a part of your family, please copy the link and fill out an application.
