Tabitha's Story...
CALLING ALL PUREBRED BOXER LOVERS!!! SCTW received a call this morning about Tabitha - she is a purebred brindle boxer, and she just turned two years old in April. Her family has to rehome her because of their small children, 7 year old twins. Tabbi has been with her family since she was 10 weeks old, where she was purchased from a breeder. She has been described as a "wonderful, loving, super well-behaved" dog. Her family has had her in training ever since they got her. She is not hyper, and listens to commands very well. Her ONLY limitations are that she gets overwhelmed by young children. Despite all of their efforts, there were a couple of instances where Tabbi snapped at the kids - broke the skin, but it looked just like a scratch. Her family is heartbroken, but believes she would deserve a better home and family without young children. She plays well with other dogs, loves hikes/walks/runs, is well behaved on the leash, loves her crate, and can be a couch potato snuggler while watching TV. Tabbi is currently being boarded in a facility up north (that her family is paying for because they love her so!) and is still being trained!!! This is a FABULOUS dog in EVERY way - and any family without young children would hit the jackpot in adopting her. Tabbi will be joining us at our adoption event on Sunday, May 7th at Petsmart in Gilroy. Please contact us ASAP to fill out an application for her!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tabitha, a Gilroy Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Gilroy, or seeking a Boxer puppy from a breeder in Gilroy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilroy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilroy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilroy paves the way for another one to be saved.
