Harley's Story...
This is Harley. He is being fostered in a home with a Cattledog Rescue group. Here is a description that they sent for him:

Harley is a red Australian Cattle Dog. He is estimated at 5 - 6 years old. He loves people, is dog social, and loves the ball and ropeys. Harley has been neutered, vaccinated and has had dental done.We have no real history of Harley prior to his shelter stay. We do feel Harley had been chained up in a yard somewhere based on his scares around his neck area. His teeth show that he had chewed on possibly a chain. Since Harley has been a guess at my home, I do not see why he was ever chained up. He has good house manners, housetrained, and uses a dog door. He is an affectionate boy. Harley has that rough look some dogs get of not having the best of care. However he gives kisses, and loves to play, he knows he will get a loving home soon. If you like to give this sweet red head a home, call 510-657-2648 or

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harley, a Tracy Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Tracy, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Tracy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tracy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tracy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tracy paves the way for another one to be saved.
