Summer is a beautiful possible Shepherd/Collie mix female.  Around 1-2 years old, 70lbs, loves people, would make awesome dog for a active family/single/couple.  Needs a home with a yard, no apartments.  Very affectionate, knows sit, LOVES balls, chasing lizards and cuddles.  Her energy level seems moderate, not high.  Loves her romps around the yard, walks and short runs, but is very quiet in the house.  Would love to be someones adventure buddy.  Take her camping, hiking, fishing, running, she is up for it all!  Untested with cats, but would do best in a home with no kitties since she does have high toy drive.  Has been great with other dogs, but still is learning on how to be social with other dogs without coming on too strong.  Will require further training so she can be the best dog possible.  :)  She has a submissive personality with people, but needs training to help her confidence so she knows what the rules are and what is expected of her.  She very much wants to please.  Please have the time, energy, stable home and positive environment before applying for Summer.   Applications are on our direct website at   We have NO history on Summer, she was a stray.  She is crated at night, walks on a leash (does pull some), we never say a dog going into a new home is housebroken, will shed, no food aggression seen, has not been a barker in her foster home, but that can change in a new environment, has been around children 7+, untested with younger, no man issue seen, doesn't appear to have separation anxiety, but is fostered with other dogs.  Breed is our best guess.  We don't know if she will grow more.  Adoption donation $350, includes her spay, rabies, dhpp vaccine, bordatella vaccine, microchip, worming, frontline, heartworm test and heartgard.

About Field Of Dreams Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission and vision for Field Of Dreams Rescue is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds by placing them into loving, forever homes. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, dog rescue organization based in northern California. We do not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, online databases and at adoption events/expos.
The majority of our animals come from animal control groups where overcrowding and overpopulation lead to the euthanasia of millions of healthy, friendly pets every year.
We are committed to providing the dogs that come Field Of Dreams Rescue with the best possible care while they wait for their forever homes by acclimating them to life outside of a shelter and providing the appropriate veterinary care needed.
We also serve our community and adopters by educating and encouraging responsible pet ownership with an emphasis on the need for spaying and neutering.
Because our foster homes are the backbone of Field Of Dreams Rescue, and to help our organization run smoothly, it is our goal to provide the best experience possible. We encourage each foster home to be as involved as they are comfortable with and allow them the freedom to foster based on their needs, restrictions, or desires.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All dogs go into foster homes, appointments can be made daily to meet dogs.

Our Adoption Process...

Field Of Dreams Rescue typically charges adoption donations from $200 to $400 depending on the age and breed of the dog. This amount covers our cost for basic vet care for our healthy animals which includes spaying/neutering, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping. Frequently, medical expenses for a single dog far exceeds the adoption donation. A few days of emergency care can easily run over $1000. Many of our volunteers contributed personal funds to help offset costs for our dogs, but every single dollar received from adoption donations goes directly to care for our animals. Any "extra" received goes towards those dogs that require more extensive medical care. When we are able, we bring in dogs that may have some minor or even major health concerns as these types of dogs are more at risk of euthanasia than healthy ones.
In general, adopting a dog is much more economical than "buying" a dog from a store or breeder. A "purchased" dog plus vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip can easily exceed $2000 depending on the breed.
