Meet Luke of the "Beach Baby Pups!" The "Beach Baby Pups" are 4 month old Collie/Terrier mixes (best guess), who traveled all the way from Puerto Rico to find their forever homes. The pups were found on a local dog beach in Puerto Rico, hence their name. Luke is approximately 20 pounds and will most likey be between 30-40 pounds full grown. Luke is a smart boy! He is very treat motivated which makes for easy training. He walks well on a leash and is confident and friendly when he is in the company of another dog. Luke knows how to sit and is perfectly crate trained. He is 95% housetrained. Luke is fostered with children 8+ and several other dogs. Luke loves to play with the other dogs in the home, both big and small. If you are searching for a friend for your current dog, Luke is the perfect fit! Luke is a shy boy and will take a little time to warm up to his new family. He will need a family who can provide him with an abundance of love and attention. Because he is a shy boy, he will need a home with another dog to show him the ropes- No expections! Luke is a sweet boy who enjoys cuddling and playing with his foster dog friends. Because he is a baby puppy, he will need an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! These babies have so much love to give...they just need a little time to learn how wonderful life can be. The pups are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many!
***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking withâ the vet(s) listed on your application to ensureâ that your âcurrent and previous âpet(s) are kept up to date on vaccinesâ (includingâ rabiesâ)â, spayed or neutered, âmaintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and âexamined annually by your vet.***
