Shadow's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

Shadow's Story...
05-04-17 Shadow is a beautiful 1-2 yr old, Rat Terrier mix. In person her body build is similar to an Italian Greyhound or Whippet, so there's possibly some of that mixed in. She is very friendly with dogs and people.
Like most Rat Terriers, she is agile and athletic. Though she doesn't generally do it, she does have the ability to jump high. She weighs around 16 lbs.

Shadow has an extended pallet, which isn't a serious condition, but will mean that she needs her dry kibble soaked briefly before eating. She is house and crate trained and is a great little dog, that will be a fantastic addition to a home and family.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting one of our dogs, we ask that you please go to our website and fill out an application. www.northmeckanimalrescue.org

Our adoption fee $195 includes spay/neuter, parvo/distemper series of shots, rabies if dog is old enough, bordatello, heartworm preventative while here, worming, and microchipping.

We appreciate your patience as our volunteer-only team reviews your application and updates our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Charlotte Rat Terrier/Italian Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Italian Greyhound for sale in Charlotte, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Italian Greyhound dog from a breeder in Charlotte.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlotte already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlotte breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Italian Greyhound breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Italian Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlotte paves the way for another one to be saved.
