My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Shadow's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the beautiful (and extremely dirty and matted) Shadow tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Cocker Spaniel (mix?) is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Shadow became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future.

Shadow is very food motivated and seems to know some basic commands, such as sit and stay. With a little training help and positive reinforcement, he should easily become the most wonderful dog family member / best friend! He enjoys car rides, belly rubs, and beef knee bone treats! Shadow's foster mom in Boulder says that he is house trained, too! And, he's good with cats!!! Doesn't he sound like the most perfect pup? We think so!

At just about 5 - 6 years old and 21 lbs, this very beautiful guy is just waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog he's capable of being. Cockers are known to be gentle, happy, and smart companions.

We'd love to match Shadow to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable guy. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it.

"Shadow is a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel mix. He's very sweet and affectionate towards humans & dogs. He has super star loose leash walking skills and always keeps his kennel clean. His name is a perfect fit because his favorite place to be is with his people!" :)
