Smoky was surrendered to PRBJ because his owners cannot take care of him anymore. He is very nervous right now. He is shy and takes a little to warm up to you. He likes to be held and get attention.
We've been fostering Smoky for a week now. He is a very frightened little guy and will need a lot of time, patience and trust. Movement around him needs to be slow and gentle and he responds best if you are on his level at first. He has bonded with me (foster mom) the most because I am around the most. He will let my husband hold him sometimes but you can just feel the fear in his body language. He must be on a leash outside as I think he would run out of fear. He does mark in the house so I have been leaving a belly band on him during the day. He is crated at night and I take it off then as he does not mark in his crate.
