My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Doss is a cute 8-10 year old Beagle that is available for adoption. He was found running loose in the Town of Saranac with a second male Beagle Desmond in December 2016. Sadly, no one ever came forward missing these dogs. Since they were left unclaimed they have now been transferred to our Humane Society for adoption. (Desmond has been adopted)

Doss weighs around ~25lbs. He is friendly and enjoy spending time with our shelter staff and volunteers that visit with him each day. Doss has been learning to walk on leash and does still pull us around a little on our dog trail when he finds a good scent to follow. Beagles are notorious for running off if they get the chance, so we are hoping to find a new person or family that has experience with Beagles or Hounds and will know how to keep this little rascal from running away again.

Doss has been introduced to older kids, cats and other easy going dogs and he gets along well with everyone so far here at the shelter. He can be a little bossy with other dogs when it comes to food and treats, but other than that he gets along well with dogs and likes to hang out or go outdoors for playtime in our fenced yards with with his canine buddies here at the shelter.

If you are interested in finding out more about Doss please contact us. He has been to the vet to be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and also tested negative for heartworm, lyme disease and other tick borne diseases.

An approved adoption application is required to adopt an animal from our Humane Society. Our application form is available on our main website, by request or you can fill one out when you can visit. We accept completed applications via email, postal mail or in person at our office. Please visit our website for more adoption information and contact us if you have any questions.
