Update on Arlo!! We pulled his posting awhile back because Arlo had buddied up with a sweet little old guy named Sammy,,,,,,, and when someone was interested in adopting Arlo,,, I was afraid that losing his best friend would be too much for Sammy,,, so we turned down an opportunity for Arlo to leave. Last week Sammy made his trip over the rainbow bridge. Arlo saw him thru to the very end........ and now he's working on making friends with another little blind dog here. But we hope he'll have another chance at a forever home of his own beyond rescue foster.
Arlo is a darling little fella.... he came to us from a shelter where they knew the chances of him getting adopted were slim, as he's blind. That seems to be a big roadblock in our human minds,, but somebody forgot to tell the dogs!! This little guy gets around amazingly well, and has right from the get-go. While in quarantine when he first arrived, we did leash walks and he just pranced around happy as could be. When he was introduced to the other dogs, it took him no time at all to figure out the doggie door and even the ramp up and down into the yard from the deck.
He's claimed his favorite spot on the couch which he accesses by way of a ramp, and he figured that out all by himself too. He'll happily snuggle up for cuddle time, but if you're busy, he'll just curl up in a doggie bed and take a nap.
Between his attitude and his shorter haircoat, he's very low maintainance and will make someone a very loving companion.
