Please say hello to Alfie. He's in need of a forever home. Alfie is a 2 year young chocolate lab mix who is as sweet as he is lovable.
Alfie came from a home that had one owner who loved and adored him, but the other was harsh and verbally abusive causing him to become cautious and reserved. Unfortunately things progressed to the point where Alfie had to defend himself from the abusive person and finally bit him. His owner knew it would be best for Alfie to find a safe, loving environment so she agreed to surrender him and Alfie was placed in a foster home.
Alfie's f oster parents stepped forward and opened their hearts and their home to help Alfie on his new journey. When he first arrived a few weeks ago he was timid, confused and afraid. Once he was shown love and affection, he quickly accepted them. Within a week, he settled into to his new surroundings nicely.
Despite the abusive treatment he received at his former home Alfie has never shown them, friends or neighbors even the slightest sign of aggression. He is a gentle soul. He's housebroken, knows all his commands, is good on a leash, and is not destructive in the house. He does not need to be crated and he has been left alone during the day without any issues.
He is silly, playful and loves to play with his ball and toys.
The foster family feels he would do best in a home with a fenced yard and being an only dog would give him the attention he deserves. A home with small children is not preferred as he is a strong boy. Most of all, he needs a family to adore, exercise and love him.
He is a pleasure to be around and a true loyal companion.
His forever home will be yet another new adjustment for him. You will need to earn his trust by love and affection as he again will need to settle into new surroundings. The love and affection will be returned and he’ll become your best friend.
PLEASE consider opening your home and welcome Alfie in to your life.
