Poor Maevis...Maevis is a Bassett Hound/German Shepherd dog mix and is 9-10 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. All she asks for is some nice walks, a comfortable place to sleep, and a home without small children or other dogs. Can you foster Maevis?

Overall: Great and awesome dog. We hate to give her up for adoption. We would love to keep her and give her the life she deserves, but we have a one year old son and it is becoming harder and harder to keep them separated, to ensure our child is safe, and give her the proper attention, love, and exercise.

Please email ctuana@gmail.com if you would like to learn more about Maevis or would like to arrange a time to meet her.

About Grateful Dogs Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control and other local shelters through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs until a loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs live in nurturing foster homes provided by volunteers. If you are interested in adopting one of our Grateful dogs, please complete our adoption application. One of our volunteers will get back to you.

Our Adoption Process...

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy human and happy dog in a "forever home." The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home inspection, and an adoption fee. The adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.
