Nanook's Story...
Welcome Nanook! This handsome, yet underweight Golden Retriever/Shepherd/Husky mix is eight months old and weighs around forty pounds. He, and his brother, Rusty, were found wandering around in rural Kentucky and brought to a nearby shelter. Although we're working on putting some weight on this sweetheart, he'll need to gain more before he's at a healthy weight.

Nanook takes a few minutes to warm up but once he does, you're friends for life! He does very well with other dogs, pulls some on a leash, and seems to enjoy car rides. As he used his outdoor kennel at the shelter, he is suspected to be house broken.

If you would like to meet this gem, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nanook, a Cincinnati Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
