My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oreo is a one-of-a-kind Pekingese mix dog. He weighs 22 pounds and is approximately 1.5 years old. Poor Oreo was attacked by a Pit Bull and was badly injured when he was bitten repeatedly in the face and neck. Somehow Oreo survived and a Good Samaritan took Oreo to the vet for care and treatment of the hundreds of puncture wounds he suffered that day. Luckily, Oreo came through it all and is now healed up. The good Samaritan tried to find Oreo's owner, but never did. We don't know why they would not want their precious pooch back... After a month, the Good Samaritan reached out for someone to take Oreo and find him the home he deserves.

Oreo is crate trained and knows how to use the doggie door. He loves to play with the other doggies in his foster home. He is calm and gentle and gets along with cats too. Oreo's favorite thing is his squeaky toy, which holds in his mouth as he prances around. He is a darling little guy and so much fun to watch.

Here's what his foster mom has to say about him:I have had Oreo for about two weeks. I will share what I have learned about him
Personality:
Oreo is quiet, sweet dog. I have only heard him bark a few times at another dog or stranger but stops when called.
He has never growled or snapped at adults, children or other dogs. I am not sure what his situation was before Judy received him but I have seen good progress in trusting people.
He plays with my puppy nonstop and is good with the other dogs I have or have had in the house.
He loves toys especially soft ones. He carries a toy around the house the majority of the time.
Eating:
He will eat anything you offer him. He is on a grain free dry dog food with about a tablespoon of wet food. He loves treats and to chew on bones. I don't think he had many of either before coming our direction.
Behavior/walking:
Oreo is good on a leash - doesn't pull or run ahead. He doesn't tend to dart from the house but has done it once and didn't leave the edge of the garage - he turned around and looked for me.
Oreo keeps me in sight most of the day. He is a love and wants to please. That is his goal - to love his owner and be loved. Oreo will get nervous around loud voices/noises and will stay back until he feels he is safe. If he gets scared, I sit down and talk to him quiet until he feels safe and he will snuggle.
He has learned to sit for a treat, stay and to lay down on command.
He has had a few accidents in the house but has done much better in the past week.
Oreo is a precious dog eager to please his owner

Oreo has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. His adoption fee is $250.00.
