Hello doxie lovers! My name is Hemingway and I am so happy you are reading my profile!

I am an 8 year old, 16lb. dapper Long Hair Chocolate and Cream boy and my foster mom says my inside is as beautiful as my outside! She also says I need to lose a few inches. She is helping me with that by measuring my food and making sure I eat a healthy diet.

I love everybody! Kids, adults and other dogs are awesome and I run from cats. I really am happy just to hang with my foster fur sister's and foster human's. I am gentle, non agressive and I don't mind sharing.

I sleep in my kennel but would love to sleep with you! I hang out in my kennel if foster mom is away but she says I am so good, she could leave me out because I potty outside and don't mark.

If you are interested in adopting Hemingway, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Hemingway 's adoption fee is $500.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Hemingway will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
