In just a few short weeks, Fetch & Releash is traveling back to Tennessee to SAVE 15 lucky dogs. These pups have been living on a farm since their rescue from a high kill shelter, and are desperately wishing for a second chance at a loving family to call their own. What better way to get involved in the rescue movement than to open your home to one of our dogs as a foster-to-adopt family!
The pups will arrive on Sunday June 4th. As foster-to-adopt family, you will have one week to get to know your new dog before we open up their profiles and photos to the public. For our most popular dogs, competition can be stiff and you’ll be first in line for adoption should you decide he or she is the right fit for you! We have helped to rescue over 60 dogs from this farm, and most (if not all) of these pups were adopted by their foster or foster-to-adopt families.
If you decide after one week that the dog is not the right fit for you, that’s okay, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving short term home until his or her forever family is found. In the event of an emergency we request 48 hours to find your foster pup a new home.
April / F/ 7 yrs / 63 lbs / Catahoula Mix
Meet April! April is ready for a place to call home. She is an easy loving and affectionate girl that is described as a “sweetheart” by her current family. April can be shy at first and will need a family that’s willing to give her the time and space she needs to warm up. April is good with dogs, but not cat tested. Based on her personality, she would probably be fine with older (8+), respectful children. April would benefit from a routine with structure and a family willing to invest in basic training. She is good in the car.
As April has been living outside on the farm, she is looking for a family that will be patient with her while she adjusts to her new home. She may need also some help with potty training and leash walking.
Poor April has not had the easiest life and unfortunately lost part of her tail due to neglect. She was recently treated with antibiotics for ehrlichia - a common tick borne infection.
If you are interested in giving April the loving home she’s dreamt of for so long, please fill out an application at http://www.fetchandreleash.ca/dog-adoption/.
April’s adoption fee $450. To learn more about our adoption fees and process, please visit our FAQs at http://www.fetchandreleash.ca/faq/.
