Facts about Matty

  • Breed: Domestic Mediumhair
  • Color: Orange Or Red (Mostly)
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11374487-Ree-C-Matty
  • Hair: Medium
Born on Valentine's

Matty and his brother, Maddie were rescued on their way to the shelter after their mom escaped the house to find dad. Two of Millions of unwanted kittens born to unspayed/unneutered parents and thrown away each year, these were lucky to find their way to DARS when we had foster space for them.

These two are still young enough that they will adapt well to a home with small children, dogs and will be accepted by older cats already in the home.

Matty is well socialized, sweet and playful. Tho, a little less timid than his sister, his true personality will only come out when he feels safe and well cared for (not at adoption events, i.e.). He is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed in just a couple of weeks. He'll then be ready to go to her forever home.

About Desoto Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We've made it very easy for you to donate one time, set up a recurring payment/sponsorship or do a tribute for someone. Everything is on our website here: info@desotoanimalrescue.org

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for the locations and times of our Adoption Events. We occasionally have special events which we're unable to post on all sites.

Our Adoption Process...

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.
