My story

My name “Eli” means ascent. The rescue group wanted to give me a name full of the promise of days filled with sunnier skies and no more dreary, lonely days.
I came from a life where loud noises meant fighting and hurting. Because of all the chaos in my former home, there wasn’t much time left over for me. I’m learning that people can also be associated with snuggles, fun walks, and yummy food. But, I’m still not digging those loud noises!! I am only a year old and weigh 18 lbs. The kind rescue volunteers say I’m an “ABITA” (a bit of terrier, a bit of ???). I may not know my family tree but the things I do know about myself are I’m cute, I long for a forever family, and I’m ready for new adventures. I will need some patience and some time, but I’m worth it!

Eli has been around children and is OK with small dogs. Suggested adoption donation for Eli is a minimum of $300 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers.
