My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petey is a 3 year old neutered male yellow lab who weighs 50 pounds. Petey came back to us as the adopters lifestyle was much busier than anticipated and Petey needs a quiet lifestyle with a settled routine.

Petey is sweet, sweet boy but but he is sensitive. He spent the formative years of his life in a pen and needs a confident owner who is willing to allow him to become comfortable with things at his own pace. He is great with and loves other dogs and they give him confidence. He seems to be a little partial to women but is fine with most men also as long as they go slow and are patient with him. He would do best in an adult home that did not have a lot of commotion and comings and goings. He also does best with a settled routine . Petey comes more out of his shell all the time and once he is comfortable in a setting/situation flourishes. He just needs that patience and stability in his life :-)

UPDATE: Petey has settled right back in at his foster like he never left. He is great in his crate and has good house manners. He was a bit thin when he came back and has put on around 10 lbs and filled out nicely. We are still working on his "gator mouth" when treats are involved. He would LOVE a quiet, settled, home where he can learn the routine and not have a lot of comings and goings constantly. He lived the first 3 year of his life in a pen and while he has acclimated well to "home living" he does better with low amounts of chaos. He is very loyal and once he trusts and loves you, is forever by your side. We know the PERFECT home for Petey is out there! He is good with dogs but also great on his own.

Petey is still doing great at his foster! He loves all the other dogs and gets along with everyone. He will require a quiet, patient home as he does lack some confidence and does best with less chaos, more routine! He is great in his crate and has wonderful house manners. Petey is quite the catch for the right family!
