KEVIN is a 4-year-old neutered male black lab. Kevin weighs 46 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION Kevin is an exuberant boy! He loves people and other dogs and is enjoying playing and running with all the dogs at his foster. We are working with Kevin on his manners and he will have a training addendum to continue this training. Kevin is heartworm positive. Lab Rescue will treat him at one of our authorized vets. This does present some challenge in getting him the needed exercise to burn off some energy, but he is really good in his crate so that will make his rest period easy. Kevin has not had any accidents, unless you count his penchant for "stealing" the water buckets and running with them lol. Kevin will need an experienced owner who is ready to help him channel some energy and continue to learn manners and commands. He is a petite guy who only weighs 46 lbs but could stand to gain a few. Kevin is OK on leash with and EZ Walk harness. He rides well. He is good with other dogs. Kevin was a stray to the shelter.

Update: Kevin is doing so well with his training. He came to us a dog that did not connect with humans at all after probably living in a pen and having food thrown in but no human love all his life. He used to grab everything in his path (toys, towels, etc) and would not give them back. He has learned through hand feeding and one on one contact and play to connect more with humans. He is no longer grabbing things and tipping over water buckets and running off with them and has even learned to fetch a ball and actually bring and give it back as you can see in his Youtube video!! It is exciting to see them grow! He even enjoys being loved on now! Kevin is great in his crate. He is good with other dogs but is not with them a whole lot right now as we are concentrating on his interaction with humans. He has come so far - this is what Lab Rescue is all about! Kevin continues to grow and blossom. His manners are improving every day and he really enjoys playing with and receiving love and attention and petting now! What a difference some TLC makes in the life of a pup!

Update: KEVIN is just about finished with his Hw treatment recovery - Yeay! This sweet boy has come such a long way and would love a furever family of his own. He is good with other dogs but with his newfound love of toys that he never had before, he would probably like to be the only pup in his house so he does not have to share his toys. He has come to really love human affection, a total 180 from when he first came to us!
